Transfer between Istanbul Ataturk Airport and Sabiha Gokcen Airport

Istanbul Ataturk Airport is the main gateway of international travelers in Turkey and most of the international flights use it as their main base. Smaller portion of international flights use Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen Airport as well. You might be asking; “I have landed on Ataturk Airport but my Pamukkale / Denizli flight takes off at Sabiha Gokcen Airport. How do I get there?” It’s a great question and it’s important to know before you make your travel plans.

So, you have landed on Istanbul Ataturk Airport. But let’s say, you bought a Pegasus Airlines ticket to get to Denizli, and their flights take off at Sabiha Gokcen Airport. The first thing you should know is that, Istanbul Ataturk Airport is on the European side of Istanbul. On the other hand, Sabiha Gokcen Airport is on the Asian side of Istanbul. The distance between them is about 70 km. And unfortunately, there’s no direct shuttle or bus connection between them.

However you have a couple of options:

Havatas

After you land on either one of the airports, you can take Havatas shuttle and it will take you Taksim. Once you get Taksim, you can take another Havatas shuttle and go either to Ataturk Airport or Sabiha Gokcen Airport, depending on where you want to go. So basically, if you land on Istanbul Ataturk Airport, take Havatas shuttle and go to Taksim. After you get to Taksim, take a different Havatas shuttle from there that goes to Sabiha Gokcen Airport. So basically you need be changing your shuttle at Taksim and be taking two Havatas buses to arrive your airport.

To get from Ataturk Airport to Taksim takes approximately 40 minutes. Sabiha Gokcen Airport to Taksim is approximately 1.5 hours. Of course, these times may change depending on traffic. Havatas shuttles will take of every 30 minutes and one Havatas ride costs 10 TL, and it’s a good price considering how far it will take you.

Taxi

Getting around between two airports may cost you extra money and you may lose time in Istanbul traffic. So, before you purchase your tickets, look at the airports you are landing on and figure out which one is going to be more convenient for you. For example, if you land on Istanbul Ataturk Airport, try to fly with Turkish Airlines since they fly from Ataturk Airport to Denizli. If you land on Sabiha Gokcen Airport, try to go with either Borajet Airlines or Pegasus Airlines since they both use Sabiha Gokcen Airport for their Denizli flights.

Denizli Cardak Airport and Pamukkale Transportation

There are a couple of ways to get around and this information is essential to know before you make your travel plans to avoid hassles in your trip.

Shuttle

Turkish Airlines Shuttle

If you are coming to Denizli with Turkish Airlines, there’s no need to worry. Because after all Turkish Airlines flights, there’s a shuttle waiting right outside the airport door to take you your destination. You can either go to Pamukkale or Denizli City Center depending on your choice. The service costs 10 TL.

So, taking a Baytur shuttle at Denizli Cardak Airport would be good and convenient choice since it only costs 13 TL to get to Pamukkale. Basically what they do is similar to other shuttle services but you need to reserve your shuttle before your travel begins and this service will provide a vehicle just for you. If you are travelling with 1 or 2 people, or just by yourself, you are provided a sedan car with a driver, that will be waiting for you at the airport. If you have more than 3 people travelling, you are provided a bigger vehicle (minibus). As you might guess, this service is more expensive compared to others, as a sedan car will cost 175 TL to take you to Pamukkale from the airport. A minibus, which will take up to 13 people will cost 250 TL. If you are travelling with a group and if you can split the cost, you can reduce the amount of money you will be spending. Taxi

You can always take a taxi from the airport to get to Pamukkale. Pamukkale Taksi, the taxi company that is lcocated at Cardak Airport, will take you to Pamukkale for 75 TL. They also have taxi services to popular destinations like Kusadasi and Bodrum.

They have a shuttle for every flight that lands on Denizli Cardak Airport and it’s really convenient to use their services if you are flying with Borajet or Pegasus Airlines.baytur-shuttleAs you know, Turkish Airlines provides a shuttle from the airport to Pamukkale. However Borajet and Pegasus Airlines provide shuttles only to Denizli City Center. This is not very convenient for you if you like to go Pamukkale directly from the airport. In this case, if you are flying with Borajet or Pegasus Airlines to Denizli, you can take a Baytur shuttle from Denizli Cardak Airport and go to Pamukkale directly. Again, they have a shuttle for every flight that lands on the airport. It only costs 13 TL to get from the airport to Pamukkale. And to get back from Pamukkale to Denizli Cardak Airport, you just need to let them know about your departure time from Pamukkale and your hotel address. Baytur shuttle will take you from there and drop you at the airport for 26 TL. Yes, it’s really convenient and this one of the cheapest way to get around.
