  2. Hi,
I am Irish and so are my two 4 year old sons.My wife is Russian. We will fly from Dublin to Ataturk Airport and then from Sabiha Gokcen Airport to Stavropol,Russia. Will we have to get Turkish Visas(multi entry, going and coming)and can we get them when we arrive at the Airport or do we have to apply to the Turkish Embassy in Dublin.Thank You.

    • Hi,

You do not need to apply Turkish Embassy. All you need to do is to get your visas online at evisa.gov.tr by making a small payment and you are good to go. Visas are no longer issued on arrival so make sure you get them before your travel begins. You can find more information on this page.

  3. Hello,
Is there any way to book the shuttle from Denizli Cardak Airport to Pamukkale in advance? Can you confirm there is indeed a direct service connecting with every incoming flight from the airport to Pamukkale to 10TL? Does the shuttle wait for delayed flights? Does the shuttle drop at hotels?
    Thanks!

    • Yes, there is a shuttle for every flight. You do not need to book a shuttle in advance. Shuttles do not leave without taking the passengers, so even if there is a delay with the flight, it will wait. Shuttle drops you at your hotel or other location of your choice.

  4. Hello,

We are trying to get a bus from Denizli to Fethiye in early July. We have found a bus through Pamukkale Turizm as recommended by your site, however we are having trouble booking the tickets.

When it comes to booking the tickets you must select a stop to be picked up from under the ‘ŞEHİR İÇİ SERVİS’ tab. However it is not clear where these stops are in relation to Denizli or which one is best to get. We were hoping to be picked up from the Denizli otogar or as close as possible to this station, however strangely this does not seem to be an option. What would you recommend? Is the otogar listed under a different name?

    Thanks in advance!

    • Hi Sarah,

Sehir Ici Servis is a shuttle service that picks you up from where you are in Denizli and takes you to the bus station. I don’t think Pamukkale is included in that list therefore it does not matter what you choose for it. I don’t know where you stay in Denizli (assuming it is a Pamukkale hotel), what you need to do to get to the bus station from Pamukkale is to take a minibus(dolmus). It is cheap and it will take you to the station in 20 minutes.

To clear your question, all buses take off from Denizli Bus Station (Otogar) and Sehir Ici Servis basically takes you to the station to get to you to your bus. So, just choose any of the locations listed under that tab and proceed buying your ticket(s).

      • Thank you so much!
Two quick follow up questions. (1) We are still having trouble booking a ticket. Do you think we can get our tickets in Denizli in person? Or are they likely to be booked out by then? (the 3rd of July).
        (2) Can I become a member of Pamukkale Turizm without being a Turkish citizen? I don’t have an identification number.

        • You are welcome.

Actually, you don’t need to buy your tickets in advance. It is usually easy to find a ticket same day however I would recommend buying them a day before your travel, just in case.

You need to have a Turkish ID number and a phone number therefore the membership is for Turkish citizens only.

  5. Hi
    We are travelling from Bangkok,Thailand.
We’ll be arriving from Selcuk to Pamukkale by Pamukkale Turizm [16.30]
can we book this bus online in advance? given that we’r Non-Turkish.

We’ll be leaving for Konya for the next day. I’ve searched Kontur /Metro Turizm but they are mostly depart early or very late like 15.00 and next is 20.00 Any suggestion on Bus company?
How often the Dolmus run from Pamukkale to Denizli otogar?
    Thank you

    • You can book your tickets on Pamukkale Turizm website, however you don’t really need to book them in advance because it is usually easy to find a ticket.

Kamil Koc has buses from Denizli to Konya at 10:30, 13:00, 14:30 and late at night.

The dolmus runs between Pamukkale and Denizli Otogar every 10 or 15 minutes.

  6. dear admin, we will be in Turkey and we want to call you for some information. can you please give us your adress or phone number so we can reach you. Thanks in advance. Carolyn

    • Hi Carolyn,

  7. Hello,

I would like to find out cost of Pamukkale Hierapolis 1 day tour for 2 Adults + 2 Kids (15, 16 years).

I’m arriving on Denizli Airport in the morning and planning to use shuttle service. Return back to airport late evening.

Please advise available options with cost.

    • Hi Jaimin,

Tours usually take off from nearby cities to Pamukkale or it is included in a large tour as a destination. Since you already will be arriving at the airport and leaving the same day, you can go to Pamukkale by yourselves. When you arrive at the airport, there will be a shuttle waiting for passengers. You can take that shuttle to get to Pamukkale. In order to get back from Pamukkale to the airport, you can again take a shuttle. All you need to do is, tell a shuttle official about your departure time from Pamukkale when you first get on the shuttle right after your arrival at the airport. They will pick you up from Pamukkale.

      Airport -> Pamukkale route costs 10 TL/person. Pamukkale -> Airport route costs 20 TL/person.

      • Thank you for prompt response. Information you provided is very valuable I have follow up question -
        - When you arrive is it easier to do it by yourself for Pamukkale or Hierapolis? Is there a local tour or guided tour offered? I would like to have some knowledgeable person to provide history and guide us (with reasonable cost).

        • You are welcome. I’m not aware of any local tours that is offered for visitors. But, it would be easier to do it by yourself since it is easy to get around between Pamukkale and the airport and also you will have more time this way.

  8. Hi,
I am trying to plan a half-day trip Saklikent Gorge and Tlos either from Kas or from Fethiye for the end of July/beg of August.
What is your advice on doing it by ourselves instead of going on an organized tour? Can we do it by public transportation and where can I find the bus schedules for the same?
Also, what is the time of the last bus from Fethoye to Kas in summer?
    Thanks,
    Dd

  9. What time do the traventines open for the public in the morning and at what time do they close. Till what time can we stay inside the traventines?
What is the ticket cost to come into the traventines

  10. Hi,
We are arriving midnight in Izmir on 21st and have a flight from bodrum on 23rd morning 8 am. We wanted to visit pamukkale and since we are 5 persons, wanted to rent a car and drive. Have the following questions:
    1. should we stay in izmir on 21st and drive to pamukkale on 22 and from pamukkale drive straight to bodrum and stay the night in bodrum?
    2. should we stay in kusadasi on 21 night and drive to pamukkale from kusadasi?
    3. other better option that you can suggest?

Your reply will be very helpful.

    Thanks,
    Japs

    • Since you are arriving Izmir midnight, it would be a better option to stay there and leave in the morning for Pamukkale. If you haven’t booked a hotel in Kusadasi, I don’t think you will have much to do there if you want to spend full time in Pamukkale on 22nd. If you have a flight in the morning from Bodrum, it would be better off if you stayed the night in Bodrum.

Besides that, I also think renting a car is a better option and will be flexible for your schedule.

  11. Good morning. I am from Greece and I am interested to travel to Pamukkale for business purposes. Which is the best way to get there? Should I travel from Samos to Kusadasi and then to Pamukkale, or is there a better solution?? I do not wish to travel by plane.

    Thank you

  12. Hi,

I would be getting to Pamukkale on a Sunday from Selcuk, and would like to find out the exact bus departure timings and prices please. Do I have to reserve/buy tickets online or is it still not too late to buy it in person on the departure day itself? Where else can I buy the tickets other than at Selcuk Autogar, please?

Also, do you have any info on bus schedules, ticket prices and purchase points to get from Pamukkale to Cappadocia? Are there any day buses?

Thank your in advance for your help, the useful info on this website, as well as your prompt replies on this question board! Great job done! :)

  13. Ciao,
I would like to visit Pamukkale in September. Is possible to done the visit in one day, arriving from Selcuk by bus?

    thank you

    • Yes, it is possible. You can spend a full day by arriving in the morning and leaving late night. Although you may not find time to discover places such Karahayit or Laodicea, you will have time to enjoy both Pamukkale and Hierepolis.

  14. Hi,
what are the opening hours of the following attractions at Pamukkale?
    - Travertine Terraces
    - Hierapolis Ancient Theater
We’d like to visit them on Sunday, September 7th.
    Thank you very much!

  15. Hi,we will be visiting Istanbul 1st week of September, want to know how can we visit Pamukkale travertines (cotton castle) in one day, forexample if we want to come back by evening.Don’t want to stay there. Thanks in advance.

    • You can take an airplane early in the morning to Denizli and you can get back to Istanbul in the evening. You can read our article about how you can get to Pamukkale from Istanbul. However I would recommend spending one night in Pamukkale and not rush it. There are great places like Laodicea and Karahayit that you can visit while you are in Pamukkale.

  16. We wish to catch a bus from Pamukkale to Antalya in October, but Pamukkale Turizm doesn’t appear to have buses on that route and the only other schedules I can find only have buses in the very early hours of the morning or in the afternoon. Are you able to assist with details of available bus service? Thank you

    • Hi Rod,

When searching for the bus schedule, use Denizli as your departure point instead of Pamukkale. Denizli -> Antalya route search will give you a lot of results.

  17. Hi,

We will visit Pamukkale in September. We will arrive by rented car and we will be staying three days.

Will be useful to have the car while we are there or should we return the car upon arrival and hire it again when we are leaving?

    Thank you :)

    • Hi Fernando,

It would better to keep the car while you are in Pamukkale. Because there are places such Laodicea and Karahayit that I would suggest you to visit and the best way to get there is by car. It is better than getting a taxi and it would provide you a more flexible schedule.

  18. Hi,
I’ll visit Pamukkale and stay at Pamukkale on September 6th, and will try to go to Selcuk from Denizli Train Station by train on September 7th.
Is it possible to catch the 8:20 AM ‘s train from Pamukkale in the morning?
What time’s the earliest minibus from Pamukkale to Denizli Otobus Station(also Denizli Train station)?
    Thanks in advance.

    • There should be early minibuses starting at 7:00 in the morning however it is not frequent as it is during the day. Also, I would ask a hotel manager to confirm because schedules and routes change from time to time.

  23. Hi
We are 4 students coming from Korea to tour Turkey for 2 weeks. We are planning to visit Pamukkale in May. We will go to Pamukkale from Sirince and go to Antalya that day.
i want to know how to go to antalya from pammukale by details please.

    • There is no direct bus from Pamukkale to Antalya. You need to get to Denizli Bus Station which is the main transportation hub of that area. Once you get there, which is only 20 minutes away from Pamukkale, you can take a bus to Antalya. Buses are pretty frequent to Antalya so you shouldn’t have a problem finding a bus.

Is there any way to book the shuttle from Denizli Cardak Airport to Denizli’s hotel in advance? and How much does it cost?
If I use the airport bus, Does the airport bus via Denizli Otogar?

    • You don’t need to book a shuttle from the airport to your hotel. There will be a shuttle waiting at the airport for everyone. It costs around 15 TL / person.

The shuttle does not stop at the Denizli Otogar.

  32. Dear Admin,
I am travelling to turkey in the month of may. After spending two days in Istanbul, I am planning two day trip to cover pammukkale & Selcuk-Ephesus. From there I would like to fly to cuppadoccia. My queries are
    1. Should I first go to Pammukkale directly (Denzil airport) and then travel back selcuk see the places and catch Izmir Cappadocia flight? or
    2. Land in Izmir, drive from Izmir spend a day in Selcuk and then go to Pammukkale, return back to Izmir to catch a flight to Cappadocia?
    Pleaase help

    • Going to Pamukkale from Istanbul would be a better option and you save the time you otherwise would spend on the road. After visiting Pamukkale, you can then proceed to Selcuk and then Cappadocia.

    3. I am also trying to book my return tickets from Denizli to fethiye fo JUne 6 and am unable to do so. I am not a turkish resident. The Pamukkale turizm website doesnt allow me to book tickets. Can you help.

    Regards,
    Darshita Doshi

    • Hi Darshita,

I know that booking tickets via bus company website is not very user friendly and it gives a lot of errors. You don’t need to book in advance to find a seat though. Unless you are travelling with more than 4-5 people, you should not have a trouble finding tickets at the bus station.

Shuttles run every 15 minutes or so, from Denizli Otogar. It costs only couple of Liras per person.

      • Dear Admin,

Thank you for the reply. I am travelling with 3 other friends. We are wondering if getting tickets at the last minute would be a problem for the 4 of us?

Also, we have around 6 hours in Pamukkale, from 9 in the morning till 3-3.30 in the afternoon. Please suggest what all covered in this time span.

We were looking forward to the following places-

        Traventrines
        Thermal pools
        Cleopatra pools
        Kaklik caves
        Laodicea Ancient City
        Heiropolis
        Pammukale Natural Park

        Please suggest.Thank you once again!

        • Getting tickets online can be tricky from the bus companies. Here’s what you can do: Instead of getting tickets last minute, you can buy all of them once you arrive Turkey and go to the bus station. This way you wouldn’t have to worry about buying tickets again during your trip.

In 9 hours, you can cover Travertines, Natural Park, cleopatra pool and Hierapolis. Laodicea is 30 minutes away with a car so you would spend at least 2-3 hours by going there. Kaklik cave is further than that. I would suggest you to spend all of your time in the travertines and nearby.

  36. Hi, where to catch the Bay-Tur airport shuttle bus in Denizli? Please advise the address. Our flight is in the evening 7pm. would you be able give us the shuttle bus pick-up time in Denizli? Many thanks

    • If you are going with Turkish Airlines, you can take the shuttle at Turkish Airlines office across the Denizli Library. If you take other airlines, you need to take Bay-Tur and you need to contact them in order to be picked up.

      • Thanks Oguzhan for the information which is exactly what I am looking for.

Just one more question: we are flying with Turkish Airlines to Denizli, would there be any need to contact Bay-Tur in advance for the shuttle bus service to the airport? or we just turn up at the pick-up location in Denizli before the shuttle bus departure time?

        • Yes, just show up at Turkish Airlines office in Denizli town center and the shuttle will take you to the airport. Make sure you contact them and find out what time the shuttle departs. And make sure you get there early as possible.

  37. We are planning to do a day trip from Istanbul to Pamukkale in October. I would like to know when is the best time of the day to visit the travertine and the Sacred pool because we would also like to see other places? We would like to bathe in the Travertine. Is there a shower room in the area? Do we need to bring our own soap and shampoo? Thank you.

  38. I will be arriving at Denizli Cardak airport on 12 August 2015, 07:10 am by Turkish Airline. I read your comment that the Turkish Airline office is across Denizli Library, but I am confused about this. Does this mean that Turkish Airline shuttle bus stop at the Denizli town and we have to change to another bus to Pamukkale?

And how do we return to the airport from Pamukkale? Do we need to go to Denizli town first?

    Thank you.

I want to go to a hotel in Pamukkale directly from airport so I think Bay-tur bus would be the best choice for me.
Even though it says that Bay-tur bus has a shuttle for every flight landing in Denizli airport,
I am concerned that they won’t provide the shuttle at dawn time.
Could you please confirm that they will have a shuttle at around 2 o’clock in the morning?
